Limbe I Mayor Offers Didactics, Classrooms To Boost Education

The Mayor of the Limbe I Council in Fako Division of the South West Region, Florence Mbaye has made a powerful move to encourage back-to-school in her municipality and improve the livelihood of orphans.

Within this package, has donated classrooms to nursery and primary schools in her municipality.

Speaking to the Municipal Updates, Mayor Florence Mbaye, underscored that she has put in place everything to ensure teachers as well as students and pupils start the new school year on a good footing.

According to the mayor: “There are a lot of structures that I have constructed. New primary schools, the old buildings I have renovated. I made sure that the minimum package is given to all head teachers so that schools reopen hitch free on Monday and with no problem. I have as well distributed didactic materials ranging from exercise books, lessons notes, scheme of work, buckets, disinfectants, wheelbarrows to all primary schools”.

In a bid to ensure children get the best of education, the mayor also employed some 200 youth who worked during the holiday to earn a pay. At the end of this campaign, each student backed home the sum of 30,000 FCFA to ease school resumption.

The Limbe I Council mayor stands out as one of the major municipal authorities focused on boosting local development. Local development has been a key tool for Cameroon’s emergence by 2035 and many have cited the mayor as playing a key role in local development. She has been hailed across the board as a mayor who understands what her role within the new decentralisation drive of the Head of State.
