Kumba II Council Acquires New Grader

The Kumba II Subdivisional Council in Meme division of the South West region has acquired a new caterpillar.

The equipment was received and inaugurated on Monday, March 11, 2024, by the Second Assistant Senior Divisional Officer for Meme division, Hermia Njonje, representing Meme SDO, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong, who is supervisory authority of councils in the division.

The reception and inaugural took place at the esplanade of the Kumba II Subdivisional Council in the presence of the Divisional Officer of Kumba II Subdivision, Edwin Nkenya Ngwana, and the Mayor of Kumba II Subdivisional Council, Chief Mbachu Jacob Kay, among other personalities.

 

Receiving and inaugurating the new Grader, the representative of the Meme SDO called on the mayor and his collaborators to make judicious use of the equipment for the development of the municipality.

The equipment was purchased with funds from the Ministry of Decentralisation and Local Development worth 100 million FCFA.

 

It will principally be used in the maintenance of earth roads within the municipality.

This comes after the council had also purchased a 20-tonne Tipper Truck to enable it fetch internal revenue.

 

Once put into use, Kumba II municipality will greatly witness the amelioration of its deplorable roads.

 

To Mayor Mbachu Kay, they will immediately get into action in the development of road networks in Kumba II municipality.

 

The population of Kumba II municipality has expressed joy and gratitude to the mayor for the developmental strides being carried out for the development of the area.
